Richards Family History  The early beginnings and work ethic of Richards And Sons dates back to the early 1900's with the Father of the Founder, Ernest Richards. Ernest had a small row crop farm in Blount County where he raised corn, cotton and vegetables. JV Richards, the Founder of Richards And Sons worked with Ernest raising crops during the summer and logging in the winter. JV plowed with a pair of mules during the summer and snaked logs out of the woods during the winter. Richards And Sons Company History   Richards And Sons began doing business in March of 1985. At this point in time we had a small fleet of equipment, trucks and personnel. We set out purposely to be small and plan for growth over the next few years.To date, Richards And Sons has grown to be a 10 to 12 million dollar a year Site Contractor specializing in site preparation, excavation and all phases of underground utilities for commercial and industrial clients.
